Programs for Children The House of Joy programs help our resident children feel "at home." It's not an "institutional enviroment!" Programs are designed to be fun, while at the same time focusing on building character. We enhance their thinking and social skills in a safe and loving enviroment. The House of Joy is led by the Children's Activity Coordinator, as well as a caring and trained volunteer staff. Year-round Programs: Academic Tutorials are held for extra practice or remedial work on outside school studies, with mentors and tutors to assist the children with homework, research, and building their study skills. ArtBridge is a time for children to discover their creative voices and experience the joy of visual self-expression. Here, the children gain an appreciation for the creativity within themselves and their classmates. Summer Program Kidz Camp is full of educational activities from June through August.There's a daily routine of reading, arts & crafts, physical activity, Bible study, singing and entertainment. A hightlight of the program is the Kidz Shop. Children are rewarded throughout the week and each Friday they can take their House of Joy Bucks to the Kidz Shop to buy things.
