The Mission of Yahweh Thrift Shop is located across the street from The Mission’s campus and provides affordable merchandise to our surrounding low income community.
Founded in 2004, the Thrift Shop serves as a much needed resource for those in need, as well as a charitable opportunity for people wishing to donate. It also functions as a training program for The Mission’s women residents to prepare for retail jobs. The residents working there get hands-on experience with selling, stocking, and inventory of retail merchandise.
The Thrift Shop accepts donations from private donors, for-profit organizations, and churches. All donors will be given a receipt for their contributions for tax return purposes.
Funds from the Thrift Shop are used to help maintain operations at The Mission of Yahweh.
Gently-used donations accepted and sold at the Thrift Shop include:
• Women’s & Men’s Apparel/Accessories
• Children’s & Infant’s Apparel/Accessories
• Bed Linens
• Books, Toys and Games
• Computers, Electronics
The Thrift Shop reserves the right to decline the acceptance of any merchandise. The Mission cannot accept non-working or used refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, mattresses or other items without the consent of Mission management.
The Thrift Shop does not offer pick-up or delivery of merchandise/donations at this time. Dumping of donations without consent or assistance of Mission staff is a violation of City of Houston waste removal policy.
